Interesting fact about the 1918 Spanish Flu - It actually originated in central China, not Spain. When it was first found, there were cases, and some deaths, but most of the cases were fairly mild. It seemed to have gone away, but then, in the fall of 1918, it went on a rampage, killing more than 50 million people throughout the world. If Corona virus does the same, then due to the much greater population of the world, we are statistically looking at about 220 million deaths.

OK, scare time is over. Have a nice day.

PS - Just call me Edgar Alan Poe.

Hear the tolling of the bells—
Iron bells!
What a world of solemn thought their monody compels!
In the silence of the night,
How we shiver with affright
At the melancholy menace of their tone!
For every sound that floats
From the rust within their throats
Is a groan.
And the people—ah, the people—
They that dwell up in the steeple,
All alone,
And who tolling, tolling, tolling,
In that muffled monotone,
Feel a glory in so rolling
On the human heart a stone—

the Spanish Flue was also considered, by some, to be the thing that actually started modern medicine. Just thought I would throw that one in.

You are also right - its REALLY scary! Its really critical that the jackass is forced to allow gov to do its job. So far that's not happening but, when there are enough tests I firmly believe that will force him to, as they say, the table and do his damned job!

My wife just read something interesting: A nurse who answers health questions by telephone said she has been talking to people reporting flu symptoms lasting much longer than usual since November. They call her from all over the US, so Covid-19 may have been around for quite a while. This is probably why "community cases" are popping up with no known exposure. They were exposed to people with mild or asymptomatic infections.

Once we have adequate testing capability we may find a whole lot more people with the virus or antibodies from earlier infections.

That's why Lakewood Regional wants me back in for more labs.
