The Trump administration awarded an N95 mask procurement contract worth eight times the usual price to a bankrupt company with no employees which has never even manufactured the respirator masks, according to the Washington Post.

The company, Panthera, claims to provide tactical training and “mission support” for the Department of Defense and other government agencies. However, it has no experience with manufacturing or medical equipment, The Washington Post stated. The Washington Post also stated, Panthera’s parent company filed for bankruptcy in the fall, and it has not employed anyone since May 2018.

Sounds like a kickback con to me. Hope the House investigates this one.

I keep on wondering if folks are taking a hard look at money flowing into the Trump enterprises. There have been a couple of suits that the Supremes have disallowed but more coming down the pike. I wonder if there are any awaiting the end of this administration before they go after him.

I think a RICO prosecution seems like the way to go. That can confiscate all of a criminal enterprise's money and property. "Criminal enterprise" seems to describe the Trump Organization perfectly.

Speaking of n95 masks, my wife has some shop towels coming tomorrow that have been tested for pore size. They are supposed to be better than n95! She has some patterns for cloth masks with a pocket for one of these membrane filters. I think she's going to whip a few up for friends and family.

One very important factor in getting a really good mask is the fit around the edges: There was a video on Youtube where a nurse was testing some homemade mask designs. One was very good, but she had to tape it under the chin. A good mask is useless if it leaks around the edges.
