This is frightening and I would not put it past President Donald (...) Trump* to try to pull it off.

Election doomsday 2020: Here’s how scholars fear the Trump-Biden race could go terribly wrong a RAWSTORY article.

Entirely possible, and that skirmish might be enough to set off something that vaguely resembles a civil war, although it might more closely resemble widespread outbreaks of senseless random violence instead.

If Biden doesn't win by a landslide which seems improbable, absolutely Trump will not concede and will claim fraud. That's a given.

I don't think there has ever been an incidence of Donald Trump losing graciously. There will be much grousing and complaint but I believe the wheels of government will crush him in the end.

Any sort of far fetched "what ifs" might occur, we are after all living in Bizzaro World these days. But most likely Biden will win a narrow win and walk off with the gold.

I definitely hope that you are right, but I'm not certain that you are. There are enough Trump-supporting idiotic Americans armed with assault rifles to make me a bit scared of what may happen on January 21st in case of a narrow Biden victory.

They've become as American as Mom and Apple Pie. Really not unlike the suicide bombers in Islamic nations.

I'm only scared if I don't have any ammo and some more just arrived today.

I own a shotgun. I have 15 cartridges. So this shotgun can fire 15 times (and I'd have to reload after each 5). It's not every effective against a mob...

My local gun store was out of ammo when I bought the 15 pieces that I have. And I'm not going back there to get more (if by any chance they have replenished the stock); it's the kind of place where one could get the virus; bunch of NRA Trump supporter types who don't believe in facemasks and social distancing.

I wonder, is there a way to buy more online? I don't know. Never tried. I'm not a gun person. I only got this shotgun for home defense, just in case, but I'm fairly clueless regarding guns.

My wife has a single shot and a box of 25 shells loaded with rat shot. We got it just for rattlers in hard to reach places because we had one crawl under the shed before I could decapitate it with a shovel. Never fired a single shot, so far. We have a fenced 10 acre ranch with a crappy little manufactured home in a neighborhood of all impressive multi-million dollar estates. I'm sure home invaders could find a much better place to rob.

We also have five big dogs who sound pretty ferocious.
