In this case, the victims generally don't pay the full price for the drugs. Insurance companies, MediCare, etc. pay most of the cost, and us victims just don't make the connection that we all pay for insurance, MediCare, etc. But of course, in some ways it's true that everybody else pays for >95% of your expensive drug.

So Big Pharma has the perfect scam: They can charge any price they like, and the people paying are far removed from the person getting the drug. If MediCare goes broke, this will be a big part of that.

AND they just keep on voting for the very people who are responsible for what you are talking about. They have, I am sure, been told but just keep on doing it anyway. You may, or may not, be one who does but that makes no difference, there are enough of them to keep the greedy in office and, my friend, remains a fact of American politics.
