I was just wondering. I think we can all agree that Trump lies. Its also generally assumed that he lies 80% of the time and now has over 2000 lies proven. On top of that there are a LOT of women accusing him of bad things. This list is actually pretty long and, as far as I can tell, nobody but true believers understand this stuff to be real.

All this being said nobody seems to mention it. If they do its a one off deal and then forgotten. In other words the American Electorate actually accepts this stuff as true and not very interesting. The media, for instance, ignores it ALL THE TIME!

I am not sure what this means. Is it the fault of Media? Do we really accept this as normal and have moved on? Does this set some kind of standard under which we raise our own children? Is it really the way things now are? WTF?

Seems to me that this is, at the very least, kinda strange and says something about our current society.

I think it was until recently considered to be a part of normal male behavior. Males are seen as the sexual aggressors. How aggressive is a bell curve. Shy virgins on one end and rapists on the other. I suspect a lot of men (and plenty of women!) see Trump's level of aggression as not so extreme.

The ironic thing is that this is exactly what Islam says about relations between men and women: Women must be escorted and dress modestly, because otherwise men will naturally act like Trump or worse.

And Trump's well-documented lies are WAY over 2000.

That's because it's true and not very interesting. Old news, you might say.

Donald Trump should be judged on his record as president, not his sexual proclivities and social imbroglios. He should be judged as a candidate on what his plans for next four years are...and all he has accomplished in the last four years.

Should be an easy win, eh?

That would be true if most Americans voted based on policies and past performance. Unfortunately elections have devolved into popularity contests.

I call presidential elections beauty contests, probably the same as popularity contests. Now 2016 was more of an unpopularity contest as 60% of all Americans viewed Trump negatively, 56% viewed Hillary negatively. It's that among independents in general anyway. History shows those who identify or affiliate with the Republican and Democratic parties vote on average for their candidate 90% of the time. So for them, it's all about the R and the D, the letter behind the name than the candidates themselves.

Now independents seem to be drawn to the more charismatic candidate. I wouldn't say neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton was charismatic. Neither was. Both were really disliked by independents to the tune that 54% disliking both and didn't want neither candidate to become president. That explains the 12% who voted third party against both candidates. But back to being charismatic.

2008/12, Obama was the most charismatic candidate, he had charisma, McCain and Romney didn't, Obama won. 2000 and 2004, G.W. wasn't really charismatic, he was more a down home boy. Gore and Kerry were statues, so give down home the win over statures. Now Bill Clinton had charisma up the ying yang, G.H.W. Bush and Dole had none. Reagan was another charismatic guy, neither Carter nor Mondale had much if any. Now Jimmy was another down home guy, that was enough to beat a bland, uncharismatic Ford.

I'm not sure where or how to put G.H.W. Bush vs Dukakis in 1988. Neither was charismatic. But perhaps it was Dukakis riding around in that tank with the ear flaps of his helmet flapping in the wind looking like an idiot that caused his defeat. 2016, I'll fall back to how a friend of mine described the candidates, Obnoxious, uncouth vs aloof, elitist and fake.

It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

I think I may have missed my point. Trump lies over 80% of the time and, apparently that is just dandy with his base. I do not understand that. I remember talking to a friend who supported him. I mentioned the 85% thing and he said; "I thing its only 75% of the time". I was startled and said; "Really? 75% of the time?" he looked back and said "Oh, s***!". What happened is that he suddenly realized that his guy was a flat out liar and he didn't get it (until then).

What I am saying is that I don't think they get it. They simply cannot believe it. Now couple that with the fact that the media rarely mentions it anymore too, NOR DOES THE DEMS THEMSELVES! Its now just one of them things, ie. Lies, and liars, are now apparently acceptable.

I know there was other stuff but this is one that sticks in the craw. If our media, our politicians, and a large segment of voters accept a flat out liar, for whatever reason, we are, I think, on an incredibly slippery slop.

Hope I did better this time.........

I watched a little of Trump the other night. EVERY thing he said was not true! Not one thing! I think I will write the tv stations and ask them to put a sign every time he speaks stating that every thing he says is a not true unless stated below. Anytime he actually speaks the truth they could, then, put a little notice on the bottom of the screen saying that its true. They wouldn't be putting that up a whole lot.

Trump is one of the most reliable news sources, if you assume everything he says is a lie. Somebody said some people would climb a tree to tell a lie: Trump wouldn't bother to have a news conference, give a speech, or tweet if he didn't have a bunch of lies to promote.

This is why I suspect post-loss court testimony by Trump would be a disaster for him: His lawyers would beg him to take the fifth, but he would insist on "defending" himself, resulting in multiple perjury charges. His apologists say lying "is just Trump being Trump" but lying under oath is a felony. He could not stop lying to save his life.
