I think what Bide did was to observe the first rule in picking a VP, do no harm. So now Biden can win California by 4 million votes instead of 3. That doesn't help him. She also doesn't help him in the Midwest or the rust belt. New England was already his. Harris doesn't sway Hispanics to Biden's side either as in Arizona and Texas as a Senator Masto would have done.

But right now I don't think Biden needed someone to get him to 270, he has that at the moment. He needed someone who wouldn't jeopardize his chances getting to 270 which Harris doesn't. Biden is up by 6 in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan according to the latest RCP averages. He has a 4 point lead in Florida and a 2 point lead in both Arizona and North Carolina. All states Trump won in 2016. He just as to hang on to those leads and he waltzes. That may be easier said than done. But time will tell. Harris will do fine although I don't see her as a big help. Although Harris may be able to get out the black vote in Cleveland and the like in Ohio and also turn that state blue. Time will tell.

But for me, neither a help nor a hindrance.

She is a very good orator. Very sharp and can think on her feet, in dealing with the press or a debate opponent. Plus, of course, she's a President Biden's insurance policy. No Biden opponent on the right is going to want a woman of color to take over as President.

Kamala will eat VP Pence alive. Mother is going to have a mess to clean-up after THAT debate.

Most of that stuff that can kill livestock actually doesn't because the livestock has enough sense not to eat stuff that will kill them.

I guess I'm okay with Harris for VP. Probably as good a choice as any. I was a little worried he was going to go with Susan Rice who has never held an elective office.

I see in the headlines that the Trump train has labeled the Biden/Harris ticket as socialist.

As if trying to do anything for the people is un-American on it's very face. As if trying to have a government for anyone other than the top 10% of earners is evil and will spell the downfall of everything "we" have worked for these past centuries.

Calling Biden and Harris "socialists" and "left-wing extremists" is hilarious. They are both about as centrist as you can get. But that is what the GOP playbook picked, back when an actual socialist was running. Does it matter to their base? I guess not, since Trump lying about stuff is applauded as strategy.

But as perotista would put it: How does that play with the Independents?

Funny that Trump and Ivanka both gave Harris campaign contributions in the recent past. Now if journalists can just dig up some endorsements they gave her, that would be great.

Not endorsements, but will this do?

It's not like, "...of the people, by the people, and for the people...", or "...to promote the general Welfare...", are in the Constitution, or anything.
