Sorry, but you didn’t make point. You expressed an opinion. The rest is word salad, none of which I have an appetite for.

I accept your implicit admission that you have no effective counter argument and, having asked for evidence, was unprepared to have it provided.

Based on previous conversations, I am assuming that you don’t have any experience with lawsuits

Which is probably why you needed to retreat to your "I don't understand the difference between being able to pick between lawyers or represent myself in a courtroom and having no freedom to choose" position.

Indeed. For example, many people, blinded partly by human nature, by tribalism, by normal cognitive errors, end up making unsupported (and, in fact, contrary to evidence) arguments like:

Quote:
“Both sides do it” is an invalid assumption.

Nice try? No, sad...

It's often said that Donald Trump co-opted the Republican party and they gave in and surrendered to him. Seems there is a MAGAt who thinks he can do the same here. Fat chance.

 my 7 year old is also able to pull out the "Nuh-UH" argument, though, I'm trying to teach her to think, instead.

Have you gotten to the "Ad Hominem Attacks" chapter in the lesson plan, yet?

smile An Ad Hominem would be an attack on the man, in this case, you. For example, had I responded "you're a libtard commie" , that would be an ad hominem. An attack on your argument (pointing out that it boils down to "nuh-UH"), is an attack on your argument, not an attack on the man making it.

To be fair, my 7 year old isn't learning logical fallacies. We save that for our kids when they turn 12.

smile Happy to help.

To be fair, is there such a thing as a logical fallacy? It's just a guess, but it may be that fallacies are inherently illogical.

Do you have a chapter on hypocrisy? Honesty? Ethics? (I think I can hook you up with a publisher...)

Apparently, the only way that Amy Coney Barrett can get a judicial position on the United States Court system is by filling a stolen seat.

In May 2017, Trump nominated Barrett to a seat on Seventh Circuit, which covers Indiana, Illinois & Wisconsin. This is same seat to which President Obama nominated Myra Selby, a Black woman, in 2016 a year before.

But Republican Senators blocked Selby’s confirmation and saved the seat for Donald Trump. After Trump was elected Seventh Circuit lost its only Black judge to retirement. The Shelby appointment would have retained diversity on that court.

Hmm
