I thought it might be of interest to find out about the religious group to which the new Trump candidate to the Supreme Court belongs to (other than the fact that, apparently, her husband rules the coop and it also a cult (I think):

I think Mitch McConnell has "covid toe" symptoms in his hands and mouth. I bet his toes look even worse. If he has that much clot-induced necrosis, he could just drop dead from a coronary thrombosis any second.

Or the other possibility is that it's leakage from anticoagulation drugs used to treat Covid-19. I guess we'll see in a few days. If those black areas start to turn colors like bruises, it's subcutaneous blood. If they stay black, I think he's in deep doo doo, and will need surgical intervention and skin grafts or amputations. I also wonder how many in his coalition are infected already.

Trump's "no masks" fantasy has turned this into a race between SC confirmation and Covid-19.

I think we all need to realize that the apocalypse is upon us. I mean that seriously.

The GOP recognized during Reagan's term that they were doomed, demographically. The future did not belong to them. Bush's Supreme Court appointment in 2000 cemented that realization. They put into place a doomsday plan that is now completely operational, exposed by the unstable nature of the Trump administration and the premature death of Justice Scalia. It has several parts, but the takeover of the judiciary is a major component. That allows the impunity of the other major elements: gerrymandering, vote suppression and the elimination of civil rights. I'm not exaggerating.

It is fully underway, but it may not be too late too counter it. It will, however, take a sustained, multi-decade and multi-faceted effort to counter - something that our institutions and the Democratic party are not particularly adept at. We have not fully appreciated the danger until recently.

Conservative ‘dark money’ network rebranded to push voting restrictions before 2020 election (Open Secrets).

If you think it is bad, it is much, much worse than you think.

Had I not lived through it, I would have thought you just submitted ideas for a political thriller screenplay.

I have been warning of these "conspiracies" for some time. (It's not a conspiracy theory if there is more than enough circumstantial evidence to "prove" it).

The primary and looming example will be fought in the SC. Imagine these extremist justices, claiming to be originalists, but in reality they use their personal biases as their guide to make decisions, and when Mr Trump comes to the court with voting irregularities from all lost battleground states .... which way will these extremist justices decide? I suspect there is a very real chance, probably low because they can not just hide the facts from the public, but when they have an opportunity to use their discretion and subjectivity, the election may be thrown into the House ... and Republicans hold the majority of state seats ... which way would they vote???

It should make the hairs on the back of your head stand up, to think Republicans are not above using the vilest methods available to win an election.

The symbolism of having Clarence Thomas swearing in ACB while Joe Biden, thru voter suppression and back room dealing, is the party's chosen centrist standard bearer is not lost on some of us. NWP.

Should serve as the ultimate example of the uselessness of centrism but something tells me it will not.

We shall see in about a week, if all this skullduggery is moot: If Democrats win congressional majority and the presidency, they can pass a new, improved ACA and abortion access laws and strip them from court jurisdiction. This is not something outlandish! We know John Roberts was a big proponent of jurisdiction stripping back when he was a Justice Department lawyer:
