David Frum puts it in perspective. Drinking my coffee and reflecting on the state of humanity this early morning, and how rudderless “civilization” is when so many people have no regard (or insufficient regard) for the need of honesty, integrity, and ethics in public and personal interactions - and the immense frustration in seeing that those key character traits are the bedrock for curing virtually everything that ails us - I came across the interview linked above. There is a calming effect of perspective, but not necessarily a hopeful one.

All Frum Atlantic I read Frum frequently in the Atlantic, yeah they are long and sometimes give you more than you want or can digest, but they rarely leave you hanging. Speaking of hanging, we saw Cruz and Hawley go into the dressing room with rump "defense" team for the fitting of their fig leaves for today's hearings! I'm not sure I can watch the fig leaf fascist show in real time. I'm only heartened by the fact that very few fig trees had to be sacrificed to cover the micro-cajones of GOP senators. I frankly think that tight Lycra thongs would be more appropriate to show America the true GOP package!

I read your post right after texting my son who lives in Charlotte NC, that he had the good luck opportunity to vote against a Rump again. He takes politics seriously and when I ribbed him about living in a red state after rump took NC, he wounded me, grievously, by pointing out that he had been gerrymandered into a blue district, while I remain trapped similarly in blue University town in a fvcking Red district TAT

...we saw Cruz and Hawley go into the dressing room with rump "defense" team for the fitting of their fig leaves... They were really checking each other out for anal warts.

Sen. L Trump, (Q-NC), Sen. I Trump (Q-FL), Pres. D Trump Jr. (Q-VA), AG L Graham (Q-SC), Sec. State J Kushner (Q-FL), DHS Sec. J Hawley (Q-MO), Defense Sec. T Cotton (Q-OK), Dir. CIA R.E. (Ted) Cruz (Q-TX) and HUD Sec. M (Lil’ Marco) Rubio (Q-FL).
Now, if that diverse team of luminaries doesn’t put us over the top in our country’s competition with Russia, China and Iran, nothing will.
