Now to prove my point about grits and skiing, look at the menu the next time your at a restaurant in Telluride or Vail or Park City, ain't a grit to be found. Shame, shame.
sheese, man, i'll have to give you that. those folks don't even have buttermilk. but you don't either if i recall. didn't i give you that teaspoon in a cup of whole milk to simulate buttermilk trick for cornbread a few years ago?

You did and I use it. Still can't find buttermilk. No problem finding grits as long as I go to the Waffle House or Cracker Barrel. Just discovered a new BBQ joint with eastern NC vinegar based sauce. Damn good.

No grits in Omaha, either, if you don't cook 'em yourself.

No ski slopes either....

But if you happen to spend the night at the Embassy Suites in Oakbrook, a wealthy suburb of Chicago, they have grits on the breakfast buffet every morning! I was so proud to see it I just stuck my face deep in the middle of the steam pan and sucked up as much as I could before I had to come up for air. The folks behind me in line said they weren't planning to eat any anyway. I tried to explain that to the manager and police telling them ain't nobody gonna eat grits in Oakbrook but Mickey. I kinda looked like I did when they found me face down on the bunny hill. I had grit burns on my face and the doctors thought they were going to have to amputate my cheeks.

Gotta do it, just gotta:

Black Men Ski

Julia, I could marry you (you know, if it weren't for the gay thing). I love Stew! (though if we're dealing in stereotypes, Stew is pretty "white sounding") - if you like him solo, you should hear some of the stuff he did with his band (I kid you not) The Negro Problem.

That's okay, Jeffro - straight men have married me and I didn't care for that either!

One more correction for the grits, buttermilk, Aspen crowd - there IS a "Buttermilk" ski area just north of Aspen if memory serves.

PS: Stew is "white sounding?" Only if you know what white sounds like, right?

So Mick, you're telling me that because I love and eat grits so much, when I was married to that yankie man and he took me skiing up in Massachooshits and I just fell down the slopes every time, it was because of that??
Why I just never would thought. Sheesh.

He tried to teach me how to say pen too instead of pee..uun but that didn't work either... .

(ps Massachusetts, folks. No offense intended. that's just how we
'challenged' southern folk pronounced it growing up.. \:D )

Mellow, I loved the video.

You got it Olyve. That Yankee man could probably ski like a bandit too, right? See any rednecks or brothers and sisters up there skiing? Damned few, I know that without asking. You fell all over yourself because grits have given you some kind of brain hemorrhoid that changes the electrical charge of the lymphatic fluid in your inner ear. Grits have a positive charge and lymphatic fluid has a negative charge. Grits get in your blood stream and some of it gets stuck in your ear and causes you to stumble around like a Republican falling out of a whorehouse in Nevada at 5 AM.

All these years you thought those sumbitches falling on each other at the Huddle House at 2 in the morning were drunk. It's possible, but it's more likely to be from massive grits consumption. That's why you never see anyone drinking Jack Daniels while eating grits. Makes you loopy.

Now I've heard some old boys in South Carolina snort grits but, I mean, what the hell. South Carolina? What else they gonna do?

I've slept with "straight" guys, say no more ;\)

the 'white sounding' remark was completely intentional - I would like to think that Stew would find that funny.
