 Quote:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a self-styled "hockey mom" who has only been governor for a little over a year, is GOP Presidential candidate John McCain's choice for Vice President, CNBC has learned.

According to a Republican strategist, Palin is the nominee, though McCain's campaign has not comfirmed this.

With an announcement scheduled in Dayton, Ohio, an associate of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said the governor had been informed he is not McCain's pick.

Sarah Palin??? Where'd she come from?

Interesting pick...wonder if it's going to pick up any disgruntled Hillarites? With her strong "pro-life" stand, I kind of doubt it.

Exactly! At least she'll "deliver" Alaska for the McCain campaign.

What's that...2.5 electoral votes or something? \:\)

Palin is even less experienced than Obama. She's served just over a year as governor. With McCain's age and sometimes suspect mental condition, is this pick going to ease any concerns about the #2 position? On first glance, I think McCain's made a major strategic goof.

My queer eye for Palin is that she should loose the glasses and get a "tougher" looking hair-do - right now she's sporting a hair-don't......something down around the face, short and hanging, and framing her face. She might even try lightening - blonding up - her hair to make it more in sync with McCain's white hair.

...and loose the Cheshire cat smile. There's a country to run!

I dunno Rick... my gay eye says a tighter bun, something a little more military than the boof-font above. I must admit though that her look of a Faux Morning News "anchor-atrix" will probably work for the GOP...

On a different note, the GOP's Presidential nom represents the hottest state while his VP, the coldest. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm still a holdout for the Howard Dean/ Barbara Boxer ticket, but alas I live in fantasyland... GObama!!!

It looks like it would be a long-distance romance, since Palin's press office says she's at the State Fair. Or... maybe they are working on the "lying for a living" tack. Wait... this is a Republican we're talking about, right... nevermind. ;\)
