Pollster dot com, stingy though it may be, has put Florida in the Obama column along with Colorado. Ohio, Virginia, and New Hampshire are still in the "tossup" column although Obama is establishing a statistically significant lead in all three. Nevertheless, even without them, pollster gives Obama 296 EV's as of today.

The McCain count is 163. No change since last week.

I'd like to think most aren't going to fall for the Pinnochio Politics being used by Camp McCain

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 44%. This is the highest level of support ever recorded for Obama and is his largest lead of the year. It also continues a remarkable twenty-five days in a row where the Democrat’s support has never declined by even a single point. The Democratic candidate has gained six full percentage points of support since Lehman Brothers collapsed to start the Wall Street mess (see trends).

I always pay attention to Rasmussen....the conservative tracking poll.

Two more big states are now on the Obama side of the ledger, according to Pollster dot com - li'l ol' New Hampshire, and big fat Ohio.

Remember the Ohio-Pensylvania-Florida formula? It goes like this: if the democratic candidate prevails in two of them, he wins the election. But now the Obama campaign can defy that conventional wisdom. If they can hang on to their lead in Colorado, New Mexico, and Iowa, they can win the election with either Florida or Pennsylvania alone.

As of today, all three are in the Obama column. Pollster's current electoral count is 320-163, with only five states left in the "toss-up" category (NV, MO, IN, VA, and NC).

I've been following the electoral vote count from another site and that count looks more optimistic with Barack at 364 and John at 174 electoral votes, respectively.

Plus Gallup has Barack at 51% and John at 42%.

Missouri, Virgina, Nevada, and North Carolina are now a "blue" leaning state. Source

I only hope that these hold true on November 4. I think the country desperately needs a blow-out election to get it back together.

I completely agree. Nothing would send a stronger mandate to an American president elect. We need it more than ever.
