We are not afraid anymore. Indeed, a new day.

As I also looked on with concern I realized that each of us is probably going to have to give up those fears so that some nut doesn't use our energy to do what no one wants to happen.

We all have something to contribute, even if it means giving up fear, however reasonable.

Good thoughts, Phil!

Excellent comments Emma and Phil!

We went downtown to the early evening celebrations (there will be lots of late night stuff too). It was too cold to stay out long but it was neat to see all the people out.

Wasn't it magic today? God, the nation and world so wanted this day to happen that you can actually feel it. My sincerest wish is that Obama can capture this feeling and use it to lead us all to work together for a better nation and a better world.

I can understand your fear. The thought of a President Pelosi would do that to near anyone.

Wonder if I will ever find your brand of humor amusing. Perhaps if it wasn't ALWAYS snide . . .

By the way, I suspect that the ratio of security to "real people" was quite high along the parts where they walked. Don't you?;-)

And the sign over the Oval Office -- the one that reads "White Men Only" -- hangs there no more.
