I posted at length in your new thread, Rick, but just to make a point here: Northam was 24, I think, in 1984. Old enough to know better. But his record since then? Not so bad. VMI is a snake pit. I don't know about "Eastern Virginia" but... Virginia in 1984 is a lot different than Virginia today. I was there, then (1985-6). There was a HUGE amount of racism then, hidden under a genteel veneer. I remember returning my purchases to the clerk who hadn't served my friend (who was black) who was right behind me in line - and this was in a military facility. I couldn't believe it in 1985. I don't know what it is like now.
