Capitol Hill Blue

I listened to some of the presser following their secret meeting.

I thought for a fleeting moment there would be some Republicans who would at least bring up the motion to discuss high crimes and misdemeanors in the House ... but then I came to my senses. The most anyone could imagine is some Republicans criticizing Mr Trump and then doing nothing.

My God ... if Pres Obama had said some of those things Republicans would not have allowed his plane to land in America.

I find it rather amazing that some old "better dead than red" right-wing extremists have not used a Second Amendment solution yet. Was that just decades of hot air? Suddenly they all love Putin?

Ronnie is spinning in his grave.

So sorry if I offend:

Overheard at the summit:
Trump: Please, sir, may I swallow ?

Even on Fox, Trump’s Helsinki Performance Was ‘Ridiculous’ and ‘Surreal’ - The Atlantic. Hell-Stinky!

TREASON.
The penalty is supposed to be hanging, am I correct?
Charge him, try him, convict him and then hang him with the Stars and Bars in the foreground.

This is treason.

Not here in Bizzarro World it isn't.

43% of the voters will switch allegiances from Europe to Russia at the drop of a MAGA hat. Russia is much Whiter and isn't soft on immigration. And I'll bet they don't have universal health care either.
Russia is everything they want America to be!

eggs-actly. I mean, honestly, It's a fecking crap shoot what this guy is going to do next. And then just calmly get away with it.
With a wave and a goofy grin we're on to the next pratfall in this reality show.
I know it's gonna come off the rails at some point but he's like a bull in a china shop and along and along the bill's gonna come due for all this broken stuff.

eggs-actly!!!!!!!!!!!!

One can only wonder how long its going to take before everybody is sick and tired of him. So far, however......... As far as I can tell, his numbers have actually gone up today!
Posted By: Greger Re: Helsinki - 07/17/18 06:54 PM
Trump says he "misspoke" at Helsinki.
So it's all good. No harm no foul... crazy
Posted By: NW Ponderer Re: Helsinki - 07/17/18 07:20 PM
Trump really cannot understand what all the complaints are about. "I was just following orders!" He exclaimed in exasperation. "Exactly", we reply.

One thing that WAS clear from the press conference, yesterday, is that TrumPutin are worried about what Mueller knows. They clearly agreed that his inquiry is a threat. (Side note: what is the proper portmanteau for Putin and Trump's bromance? TrumPutin? PuTrump? Tru-put? Trumput?)

Even if they were innocent it would be a threat, after all, it's aimed right at them.

Based on the post Helsinki press conference AND the "Cleanup on aisle 5" damage control presser today, I submit that Trump is not only a serial prevaricator, but I also submit that Trump's ONLY GOAL is to enrich Trump, even if it is at the expense of everyone in the entire USA, and the West altogether.
Trump just showed up to meet Putin with the intention of clearing up HIS issues, and his issues only.
Simply put, Trump wants a Trump Tower in Moscow, end of story. Everything else is just theater.

Interesting documentary about Trump attending a bunch of "cocaine-and teen-models" parties 30 years ago:

BBC Doc Alleges Trump Hit on Teen Models at Cocaine-Fueled ’80s Parties

There's no smoking gun, other then his own statement when he entered the teen beauty pageant dressing room when some underaged girls were naked: "No big deal, I've seen it before." Implying that he has seen underage girls naked before. Like maybe the woman who was 13 at the time but dropped her rape lawsuit because she said she was afraid of Trump.

Anyway, that leads us to an interesting hypothesis: Putin has video of Trump not with just hookers, but with underaged girls. That's why Trump is willing to do anything he can for Putin.

and Mr Trump would be deluding himself if he thinks tape of him and underage boys/girls/animals would make a difference with his base ... they just don't care

so far I have not seen that anything would make a difference to establishment Republicans as long as they believe they can not go against Mr Trump because if they did, they believe his supporters would abandon the party. I believe they are correct.

The girl is right. There is a dichotomy, everybody is afraid of the narcissist bully except those who are not afraid of him. This is the most surreal political situation I have ever seen or heard of.

We shouldn't forget that the jackass' business had MUCH to do with Russia.

appears the result of public failure in Helsinki is to take orders from PM Netanyahu .... GO TO WAR!!!!!

It is a real and the ultimate distraction from Mr Trump's personal and public failures

Think about it, Stuttering John, a former member of the Howard Stern Show, was able to penetrate the office of the POTUS and speak directly to the President, and Sascha Baron Cohen (Borat) was able to punk former Vice President Dick Cheney, and make a Georgia State legislator yell the N-word while dropping trou and backing his naked butt against a phony Israeli "security specialist".

Is it really that difficult for you to accept the fact that we have inadvertently allowed the top espionage operations of Russia to take our elected leadership in the Republican Party hostage?
Posted By: jgw Re: Helsinki - 07/24/18 06:16 PM
I suspect that the 2 hours alone allowed the jackass to reveal every national secret there is to his mentor and friend Putin. I also suspect that the jackass is actually considering going to war with Iran to get his current failures out of the news. I am basing this on the last couple of days when he has tried, unsuccessfully, to get his failures out of the news.

As an aside. Does ANYBODY know when the great deal maker has actually made a deal in the interest of the nation? I couldn't find one but nobody, press or TV, has mentioned that little fact so I must have missed it. I am asking this question because the Jackass has claimed he was responsible for every favorable thing that might have happened since he was inaugurated. This being the case he must have done something? (I consider employment and economy, for the most part, to just be a continuation of what Obama started).

Some would say the Great Tax Robbery is a major economic success. Of course they are wrong, in the longer sense. They just benefit rich people who already have more money than they know what to do with. And increasing income inequality hurts the economy. Pretty much everything else has been a failure, with unconsidered consequences that far exceed any "benefit". Quite predictable when you elect a third-grader to be President.

Before Trump, every other Democrat or Republican President was at least 85% right in what he did. There are a lot of things that just need to get done, and are not partisan issues. So to assume everything Obama did was wrong, and work to undo it, means you are at least 85% wrong! (I would say more like 95%, but I am a Democrat.) That one assumption dooms the Trump Presidency to go down in the history books as the worst ever.

As for the supposed economic boom and low unemployment, do you remember back during the Obama terms when companies were sitting on great piles of money, not expanding, and not hiring, in hopes that a Republican would create a better economic environment? When Trump got elected they all rushed out to expand and hire. So it was a self-fulfilling prophecy! Businesses think that Republicans are better for the economy but the real numbers show the opposite is true.

I was going to say wait until the full effects of tariffs weighs in but it would appear Mr Trump will buy farmers off with subsidies.

Winners and losers ... the only loser is America
Posted By: pondering_it_all Re: Helsinki - 07/25/18 01:24 AM
I did hear an interview with a lady farmer who is also a statewide farmer's association officer. She said on her farm they put off building a grain storage tank because the cost went up 25% from last year. She well understood that would affect the tank company, the installers, their local businesses, etc. And that was just from the steel tariff. She also had some very bad predictions on wheat prices without China as a customer.

Giving free money to some segments of our society won't offset the bad effects all over the whole economy.

On the other hand, pork loin is going for $1.79 a pound! Hurray!

So, since nobody could report any deals, made by the jackass, I will assume that I was right and the jackass has not yet made a single deal! How come nobody seems to mention that one! He ran on it, he continues to brag on his skills at dealing, yet not one single deal! Oh, I know, he has claimed them, like North Korea but, in actuality the great deal maker has yet to make a single deal! Woopee!

On reflection I guess he has been too busy finding an appropriate distraction from his incredible 'summit' with Putin. I think this is why he released the latest phone/meeting recording. Its actually grabbed the spotlight from the summit but I have full faith that one will not go away whilst the recording will. I tend to believe there are a LOT of those so they will be appearing with some frequency in the coming months.
