So will this comment stand as an example of the sort of adult interaction encouraged here?

I didn't imply that you favored bestiality Harv, but I'll edit my comment if that makes you less offended.

"Keep believing that we had a legitimate reason to invade Iraq and continue to dispute the concept that our invasion was NOT an example of Christian terrorism."

That's what I truly meant...my phrase, which will be struck as soon as I finish writing this, is a convenient and often humorous way of saying "yeah sure, keep telling yourself that" and was recently made popular on ESPN by a commentator who accidentally let the F-bomb slip on air uncensored.

But while you're waiting for the edit, take a look at this:
Marine reservist mistakes Greek orthodox priest for terrorist, beats him with tire iron.

Oh yeah, ponder little gem from Pat Robertson too, while you're waiting.

It's nice when our Christian leaders paint with a nice broad brush.
I guess Fareed Zakariah had better get his little Fascist Card ready. He's gonna need it.

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty; we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."--Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue, The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8-16-93

Quote
David Barton on the purpose of Wallbuilders - ""to exert a positive influence in government, education, and the family by 1) educating the nation concerning the Godly foundation of our country; 2) providing information to federal, state and local officials as they develop public policies which reflect Biblical values; and 3) encouraging Christians to get involved in the civic arena."

Quote
"The mission of the Christian Coalition is simple," says Pat Robertson. It is "to mobilize Christians -- one precinct at a time, one community at a time -- until once again we are the head and not the tail, and at the top rather than the bottom of our political system." Robertson predicts that "the Christian Coalition will be the most powerful political force in America by the end of this decade. We have enough votes to run this country...and when the people say, 'We've had enough,' we're going to take over!"

Christiban or Taliban? Their goals are the same - theocracy.

Regarding the ex Marine terrorist involved in a mistaken identity hate crime. I'm going to suggest that he may not be a Democrat.
Even that he might possibly be an intolerant right wing wackjob.
These clowns are giving Conservatism a bad name.

I don't see a Christian Theocracy being any better than an Islamic Theocracy. Especially since those Christians that want that rarely follow the teachings of Christ. Them as do, don't want a theocracy.

Max Blumenthal has been documenting the Religious Right for some time now. If you go to youtube or google video, you'll find him.

I don't want any theocracy of any kind. The sooner the US government makes it perfectly clear that no religion shall hold sway over the government of the United States the better off things will be for most of us. Of course the likes of the Osamas bin Robertson and Dobson will be displeased as will Oily Taint, but that's what needs to happen and Obama is the best opportunity America has.

My psuedo-conservative friends who make much of the need for strict construction of the Constitution and interpretation of the Constitution in accordance with the founder's original intent continue to forget:

The noun "god" in its common and Proper noun forms appears in the Constitution zero ( 0 ) times.

The noun "christian" in its common and Proper noun forms appears in the Constitution zero ( 0 ) times.

The noun "religion" in its common and Proper noun forms appears in the Constitution one ( 1 ) time, in the First Amendment.

Quote
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
