The Round Table
for the
Week of October 3rd, 2010

Welcome to Autumn in Vermont

October's Bright Blue Weather

O suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
October's bright blue weather;

When loud the bumble-bee makes haste,
Belated, thriftless vagrant,
And Golden-Rod is dying fast,
And lanes with grapes are fragrant;

When Gentians roll their fringes tight
To save them for the morning,
And chestnuts fall from satin burrs
Without a sound of warning;

When on the ground red apples lie
In piles like jewels shining,
And redder still on old stone walls
Are leaves of woodbine twining;

When all the lovely wayside things
Their white-winged seeds are sowing,
And in the fields, still green and fair,
Late aftermaths are growing;

When springs run low, and on the brooks,
In idle golden freighting,
Bright leaves sink noiseless in the hush
Of woods, for winter waiting;

When comrades seek sweet country haunts,
By twos and twos together,
And count like misers, hour by hour,
October's bright blue weather.

O suns and skies and flowers of June,
Count all your boasts together,
Love loveth best of all the year
October's bright blue weather.

Helen Hunt Jackson (1830-1885)

Hi Everybody...Long time, no see! Have been super-busy working and also directing a show. All will calm down at the end of this month.

I'm posting the new opener early tonight because I'm having a hard time staying awake. laugh I'll leave the last Round Table open for now, in case anyone has more to add.

Have a good rest of the weekend!

AN

Good Early Morning,

Just checking in to see who's hanging around. Tonight in the Aktion Club. It is a club for mentally challenged adults. We have people in group homes who come who are both MI and MRs. I found out last week that as in all things, there is prejudice. The MIs think they are superior to the MRs and can be quite cruel.

Tonight I am in charge of the program. I have Kazoos. If anyone has any lesson plans for Kazoo fun, please let me know.

Kathy

Saw Ben Affleck's The Town yesterday with dad. It was a GREAT movie.

...as an aside, Ben Affleck is sooooo handsome in the movie, and John Hamm - smokin' sexy hot! Bow
