Television news, these days, is filled with reports of police killing black people. That, in itself is interesting. Here is a link: https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/

It also seems that the police kill, approximately twice as many white people as black people although when you add in everybody killed by the police who are of color about twice as many of those are kill as whites killed.

Anyway, we now know that anytime the killing of a black person occurs that is unjustified then the family of the killed get to sue the city that employed the killer and is rewarded something between 1 and 20 some millions of dollars. The size doesn't really seem to be based on anything but the skill of the attorney representing the family.

What boggles is that I have yet to see any tax payers raising their hands and asking those in charge of the police to fix the problem because its just too expensive to continue! I keep on wondering! Do the tax payers even care how this is a waste of finances which could have been better spent? They seem to get all upset about it but when the money goes out nobody seems to give a damn. We are talking about millions of dollars here! WTF!

Then there is our healthcare. I watch Seattle TV and the other night they had a show on our system of healthcare. They had some points to make. They examined the health care of the UK, Canada, Switzerland and a couple more (forget which). Their basic point was that we are spending hundreds of billions more than other countries. In addition to that their outcomes are better than ours! So, we are spending more and getting less in return. In addition to those two facts we also don't take care of everybody whilst the other systems do. This one has always amazed me. There is one little thing about healthcare nobody seems to understand. If you want a healthy country then EVERYBODY has to be taken care of. If you have ill citizens then they can often pass their problems on to even the rich. The trick is pretty simple, keep EVERYBODY healthy! The problem is that we don't, even though we spend a huge amount more than everybody else! Apparently our solution is to point out to everybody that to take care of EVERYBODY means that gov is going to inflict themselves into our healthcare which is SOCIALISM (an evil thing and tool of the devil). So, apparently, we are going to spend billions to make sure we are not going to be infected with SOCIALISM! The really strange thing is that our government, right now, is spending more per capita than other countries which are able to give healthcare better than ours to EVERYBODY and we don't care!

Basically, I think, we are a nation of insane people unable and unwilling to fix a problem that wastes our tax dollars and kills our citizens, even though we know of better ways but refuse them because, I guess, we can. I am somebody who believes that people do bad things because they can. I would add healthcare to those bad things. We are called the richest, and best educated, nation on the earth. On reflection we just may also be a nation of idiots, probably recognized as such by the rest of the world for good reason.

Again - WTF!

Oh, apologies - I have probably said this all before but it sticks int he craw....

Half our population is caught up in nonsense. Just look at this:

Not exactly solution-oriented behavior!

Not just nonsense, but QAnon-sense....

They'll believe anything that comes through their newsfeeds

I watched somebody talk about how the Republicans seems to have abandoned their interest in things fiscal for anti-reality beliefs - and he was RIGHT! The Republicans (self proclaimed conservatives) have also abandoned the smaller government thing as well and some others as well. This is a MAJOR switch in the Republican agendas. Now they seem to have switched to stands based on downright lies! This is, I think, VERY strange! I am no longer sure just, exactly, they either support or believe.

On the other hand there also seems to be some Republicans who are actually sitting down with Democrats to work out stuff, like Police fixes, for instance. This is a very good thing, I think. One has to just wait it all out to see what happens although, I think, the entertainment values continue without pause - on both sides.
