Here is a list of the 20 best paid ceo's in america. In the 1950's there was a lot of talk about CEO pay and how much more it was than the normal worker. This is a more recent list. The question is how fair is this and how rich the companies are. In this time of Biden, and his efforts to tax the rich to pay for what he wants to do I thought this might be interesting:

It's particularly jarring when you consider that many companies could pay their lowest paid workers $15 per hour, if they just paid their CEOs 20 times that instead of these millions per year.

there used to be a lot of talk to pass a law about that. It never went anyplace as nobody thought it could get through the supremes. I think that Biden is trying to make a run on the huge difference in wealth in this country. Many believe that, with such a wide disparity, the nation has a serious problem.

I do know that if somebody is making over 35 million dollars a year that they deserve a higher tax bill! I also know that, after WWII we had a maximum tax rate of 91% and nobody was whining. Now they are whining about 39%! I think them that are making over, say, 10 million a year deserve to pay a lot more than just 39%! That's particularly true of those who have been skating for years and paying little or nothing due to the 'deals' built into our tax system. I am, incidentally, for a complete overhaul of our tax system based on paying the bills and nothing else, including 'special' deals for 'special' people.

I thought I would add another question. Does anybody here think that any CEO is worth 1000 times the pay of an employee?

I'm okay if they pay him that much...but I want it taxed heavily.

We'll see how Biden does on his taxing the rich agenda.

If republicans fear anything more than defunding the police it would be re-funding the IRS...

Its just getting weird. It used to be, for instance, that stock holders would not pay anybody that much money as that is money out of their pockets. So, we now have a situation wherein taxpayers seem to be allowing their police department to go rogue which costs them millions and stock owners that just don't give a damn about their ceo's looting company funds as well. I can remember, incidentally, when there were stock owners that actually controlled their ceo incomes. Now add in a voting public with, apparently, an inability to vote in their own best interest. Apparently we are approaching a place where most just don't give a damn?

I just can't figure out how and when this all happened and we WILL pay a price for all this so-called liberty.....
