Here's the reality of my commute:

I leave the house at 4:30, pick up two riders at a church off of the main route. We get to the ferry at 4:42 am. Ferry leaves at 4:50 am. We arrive in downtown Seattle at 5:45 am. I drove across the street from the ferry building, park and wait. A Bainbridge rider gets into the van after walking from his ferry over to the van. We then turn north a few blocks, then east for five blocks, pull over into a loading zone and pick-up another rider. Then onto the five for 1/4 of a mile, then onto the 90 for 15 miles. Then we're at the Corp Campus by 6:23 am.

In the afternoon, we leave the parking lot start at 3:30 pm, I drive around the corner to pick-up the Seattle rider and we're on the freeway by 3:37 pm. We arrive in downtown Seattle by 4:02 pm. We drive 4 mins to the ferry. I let the Brainbridge Island guy off in the ferry parking lot and he walks over to the Bainbridge Island ferry. I go through the toll booth, get my pass scanned, I'm directed to pre-boarding and wait about 2,3 mins before I'm permitted to drive onto the ferry.

We gat back to our side about 5:20, I drove my church riders off about 5:27 and I'm back home by 5:32 pm.

Having stated all of the above, the van route is changing next week because the 4:50 am / 4:15 pm (same ferry) is going out of service for maintenance.

So...I'll be laving the house at 4:15 am, meeting the church riders in Paulsbo, picking them up, then over to the Bainbridge ferry where the Bainbridge rider will still walk on the ferry, but instead of waiting upstairs, he'll come down to the vehicle deck and get into the van.

We'll arrive downtown Seattle at 5:55 am and pick-up the Seattle rider at 6:05, same as usual, and w're back on track for the commute.

The Bainbridge ferry ride is 30 mins shorter, but'll we have to use that 30 extra mins gain in time for commuting to the Bainbridge ferry.

..for those of you keeping score, Jacob Chansley no longer wants to be known as the Qanon Shamen guy. Pretty sure we don't get to pick out nick-names for people who give them to us. Mebbe I should consult Donald Trump on this one.

Anywhoo...

If Qanon Shamen doesn't work for Jacob, I'm sure "Dance with Karens guy" will. laugh

Here's a question for everybody:

What have humans done that has improved the environment on Earth? (No fair presenting something that is a partial fix for bad things we have done!)

Well, this is on the local side, but prairie settlers planted a whole lot of trees. Of course I’m a tree fan so I think that was good. Also it vastly increased the bird population.

Then you'd love the Pacific Northwest. There is a tree on every square inch of soil in native forests. smile

Good one (though in my self-appointed capacity as Archibald Arbiter, I would give that a neutral score). But neutral is quite an accomplishment for humanity, IMHO. My ranking is debatable, of course. Might be an interesting discussion...

So yes this all sorts of reminds me of the discussion I was having with Ponderer about nonsensical invectives being thrown about on the Internet. Where does one go with this? For many it is become impossible to have any sort of rational logical discussion about topics of importance.

Take Ivermectin for example. That seems to have gotten a lot of press recently regarding a Covid mitigator and it’s really difficult to determine how widespread that belief actually is. But it does make me wonder how these people could out of hand reject very effective Covid vaccines and instead in their minds replace it with Ivermectin.

A livestock dewormer. Nothing at all related to viruses but rather to internal parasites.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons, for the moment at least, I prefer the thoughts and interactions of non-human species.

This was in response to Olyves post by the way.
