He is the son of god, savior of America, blah blah blah.
Yep, despite all of the evidence to the contrary.
And his re-election is an entirely possible outcome of the 2024 election.
He's made it clear that the only thing between him and running would be failing health and he seems pretty healthy for a man his age.
So yeah...it could happen, but is it worth obsessing over for the next few years? As the title of this thread implies, history is going to judge the capital riot harshly and once all the facts are in history is going nail Trump and his little cadre of racists and crooks for exactly what they are.
Like you, I am expecting the immediate future to be bleak. But I'm not gonna let it get me down.
I don't think Trump will be the next president, but if he is I already know exactly what it will be like. I survived it once and will again. If there is a silver lining to look for it is that Republicans are notoriously bad at governing. They are their own worst enemies.
Politics is a slow-moving game, and it's looking like we're gonna hafta pretty much hunker down for a decade. If that scenario plays out, there will be a massive blue wave in 2032.
But for now, we really don't have enough data to speculate about 2024. Biden, Harris, and Trump are the only sure players in a squid game that will involve 100 or so.
