A major part of President Biden’s plan to address climate change is reportedly being cut from the $3.5 trillion spending bill because of opposition from Joe Manchin.

Bought and paid-for Joe Manchin is torpedoing climate change legislation just like the coal industry wants. Manchin is against the provision that would replace coal and gas-fired power plants with wind energy, solar, etc., and so White House staffers are rewriting the bill without it.

Sickening!!! mad

Mebbe this is a good time to bring up the Constitution promoting slavery and a system of government where white men rule everyone.

That's why we have a Senate where the Democratic half represents 41,549,808 more people than the Republican half, but has the same vote.

Manchin is doing nothing of the sort! He is removing it from this bill. Democrats are welcome to introduce a separate climate bill. The goal is to shrink this bill to a more manageable size. He may be correct and he may pull republicans on board. Bi-partisan legislation is much easier to build on.

Let's see if this post bumps it.

Working poor West Virginians are furious with Joe Manchin

According to the WaPo link above, voters back in West Virginia are furious with Sen. Joe Manchin (D) for bullying his fellow Democrats to take out much-needed aid for poorer families, saying they could use the financial assistance and he is disregarding them.

As the Post reports:
Quote
"... the moderate Democrat from West Virginia implied he would not support extending the monthly payments, which come in the form of an expanded child tax credit, without changes," saying in an interview, "There's no work requirements whatsoever. There's no education requirements whatsoever for better skillsets. Don't you think, if we're going to help the children, that the people should make some effort?"

That, in turn, is angering many West Virginians.

Yup, he basically referred to his own people as deadbeats.
