What do folks think a pragmatic and effective response to the things that Boebert, Greene, Trump, Gosar, et al, say and do would be? Striking back in kind appears to only fuel more strident reactions. The House censuring Gosar didn’t do any good, and doing the same for Boebert will see the same fate. The Reeps promise to do the same in retaliation, if they take it over in 2022, except they will censure for spite, not punishment for unacceptable behavior.

What’s a smart response?

A smart response? I don’t know if there is such an available thing in response to these over the top antics. These characters you have mentioned have turned politics into the equivalent of professional wrestling. Unfortunately to contend with these fakesters their opponents need to descend into the same devolved arena.

Is that possible? I don’t know as I have always considered myself to be a man of logic and reason. Sprinkled with some attempted humor of course as lame as it sometimes might appear. But regarding this current circus show….I have no idea. Bring on a government run by an impartially programmed super computer programmed to do the mess smile for the most. A lame suggestion I will readily admit, but that’s all I’ve got for these terrifyingly crazy times.

Of course, for all of us, in about 10 years it shall all be over. Se Acabo! En infinitum. As it always has and had been for every generation that has superseded us and will follow us. And subsequently doomed to ask themselves the same questions we have been asking ourselves.

On that happy note I wish all of you a happy post-Thanksgiving and a very very merry Christmas and the happiest of New Year’s. Oh and Gregor, whatever your great holiday might be..I wish you the best. How does Kwanzaa and gung ye fat Choi fit into this? I suppose that is a topic for another thread.

Strangulation would work for me. If I allow myself to dwell on that nonsense, visions of the various forms of strangulation begin to parade through my head. Garotting, lynching, half-hanging, drawing and quartering...you know the pragmatic and effective answer.

But with those options off the table I'm afraid we must exercise patience. It's a movement that's destined to eventually implode.

You left out Impalement, which was popularized by a previous Vlad, who was more direct than the current Vlad. The previous Vlad was Vlad the impaler, it remains to be determined what MODifier will history attach to Pootie-poot, in yet another quotation of presiduncial oraltory.

Impalement doesn't involve strangulation. I only mentioned half-hanging because it was often followed up with the much more fatal dis-memberment.

What I'm really thinking of is just a simple hands to the throat strangulation. Which is how such rudeness and stupidity should be dealt with.

But as I said above...it's off the table. We've got to find another way.

And I suggest it's going to take years before it begins to resolve itself. About the same number of years that Ken(correctly) assumes we might all have.
