I’m sorry Mellow. That was a thought for probably a different thread.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Thanks, Ken. I’ll go ahead and clarify, briefly, just in case.

For those of you who buy prescriptions out of state or out of the country, you appear to be doing so from price or convenience. Good on ya.

But if the drugs you are importing are legal in your state of residence, your comparison to abortion pills is invalid from the start. You are buying a legal product which could be purchased locally. Neither of these facts are true of abortion pills.

I think you meant: "Neither of these facts are true of abortion pills, in some states." But that becomes moot, if they can easily be obtained by mail or internet, and the state law is unenforceable.

We have been talking about states where where treatment is illegal. I didn’t feel the need to specify.

The need to get medication from another state or country is ridiculous. It’s a short-term, very poor solution. It adds obstacles where no obstacles should be. I can think of no other medical procedure which requires travel from one state to another unless the treatment is not available locally, nor any that is, essentially, available only by mail order.

There are huge swaths of the US where specific treatments are unavailable. Patients often have to travel to distant medical facilities to get their needed treatment. I agree that certain states outlawing specific medical treatments is obnoxious, and really none of their business. It's ironic that those states that insist on government control of women's bodies, are the very states that support the "my body, my choice" anti-vax people.

I wonder if some people in those states could force those mandatory expectant mothers to get vaccinated against Covid to protect their fetuses and newborns. Stillbirths are about four times more likely if the mother has Covid or had it while pregnant.
