At some point, all these crazy people gathering in one place on the internet might be useful. Internet providers can identify their users, so public health departments could know who needs psychiatric assistance, or at least meds. Government would probably want to start with the actually dangerous, like people talking about making bombs or planning kidnappings.

Oh wait! I think they have actually done that for the people who were planning to kidnap and execute Governor Witmer of Michigan.

We're flying electric helicopters on Mars yet you can't turn on your clothes dryer in Texas. That's because scientists are in charge of Mars, and Republicans are in charge of Texas.

I did see the movie. I thought it a good satire and some of the portrayals and incidents were spot on. Satire is supposed to be uncomfortable and to make one think. Some of the humor was trite or cliché, but mostly provocative. Go Bronterocs! I think that's going to be the Washington Footnote Team's mascot.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

The problem with the social stuff is that its a way where crazies can meet and talk and extend their lunacy. When my friend said it gave flat earthers a place to congregate that's just the tip of the iceburg. If you go to a flat earth place you can see all sorts of stuff that proves that the earth is flat. The problem, I suspect, is that its just a place to start. if you goto flat earth places you will also get an impression that there are a LOT of flat earthers. They are considered crazy and no danger. My problem is that if you have a bunch of crazed people speaking to each other, with a will and dedication, I am not really sure where it all ends.

My own thought is that gov is going to have to step in and start regulating this stuff. I have suggested that before. Hell, the owner of Facebook has actually started putting up ads requesting gov to set, at the very least, some boundaries.

I know, its not gonna happen. Gov, for some very strange reason, has decided that they cannot regulating internet social activity. I am absolutely sure that we will, in the fullness of time, reap our due rewards.

I just came across another movie of, probably, little interest. Its called Idiocracy and is easily downloaded. It may be a movie to where we are headed and VERY strange!

Just google "idiocracy download" and pick a site to download it. Good Luck!
