Aldi's market is interesting: It costs a quarter to get a cart from the row of carts by the door. When you are done with it, you can put it back in the row and get your quarter back. Very German! Everybody gets a quarter to be socially responsible. Leave it to us Americans, though. We buy a cart in the parking lot by giving the former user a quarter and wheeling it in.

It also allows for charity. You can just leave your cart in the parking lot and bums will take it back for the quarter.
